Samsung S9 and iPhone 8 are the best flagships of their platforms. Samsung Galaxy S9 is an Android smartphone and iPhone 8 is based on iOS made by apple only. Samsung S9 was launched in 2018 whereas iPhone 8 was launched in 2017 with two other iPhones named- iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X. Apple and Samsung have been fighting the battle of making the best smartphone every year. Last year Apple launched iPhone 8 and iPhone X to which Samsung launched Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+. Samsung Galaxy S9 vs iPhone 8: Design

Both the smartphones are made to look best according to there manufactures. Samsung Galaxy S9 is having more screen to body ratio. Both the front and back glass back covered with Gorilla Glass with round edges. Having fingerprint sensor at the back and Iris sensor on the front on the top. Glass body gives this smartphone a shiny look. Whereas iPhone 8 has less screen to body ratio but in real day to day life small body line will not give any problem. iPhone 8 has a glass back which allows it charge through a wireless charger. This glass back made iPhone 8 to get rid of the antenna lines on the back. iPhone 8 still looks similar to iPhone 7 but is glossy at the back because of glass. It is said that it is the most durable glass ever used in an iPhone. iPhone 8 has a fingerprint sensor on its front and is with a pressure sensor in the place of an actual button. In both, the models stereo speakers are present on top and bottom for maximum audio output. Samsung Galaxy S9 is an Android smartphone 

Samsung Galaxy S9 has an audio jack whereas iPhone 8 has only one place to charge the iPhone or listen to the music using Apple's earphone. But nowadays people are moving towards wireless headphones and earphones making Apple's idea of removing earphone jack is successful. Samsung Galaxy S9 has curved edges which look stunning but it is of no use in practical daily life according to the users. Moreover, it makes the Samsung S9 more vulnerable to screen damage. Whereas iPhone 8 is safe in case of screen damage. 

If we compare both the devices on the basis of Design, Samsung Galaxy S9 is more sensitive to damage as compared to iPhone 8. Both the devices have metal frames and glass body. Due to only one slot for charging and earphones, Apple's iPhone 8 looks better from bottom view whereas edges look good from the front but are not good for screen's safety. On asking people (the actual users) iPhone 8 won the battle on the basis of design. Just like Samsung Galaxy S9, OnePlus 6 is also one of the high-end Android smartphones. Samsung Galaxy S9 vs iPhone 8: Features

Samsung Galaxy S9 has always on super AMOLED touchscreen display with ~86.6% screen to body ratio whereas iPhone 8 has LED back-lit IPS LCD touchscreen display with ~65% screen to body ratio and 3D touch on screen as well as in home button. In iPhone 8 3D touch is a special feature that allows the user to interact with iPhone 8's screen in 3 different ways whereas Samsung S9 has curved display which gives shortcut menu option to the user. Practically 3D touch is considered better than edges because people found that curved edges are of no use in Samsung Galaxy S9 and 3D actually gives better interaction with the iPhone 8. iPhone 8 has true tone display with Wide Color Gamut. Samsung Galaxy has Gorilla Glass 5 for protection on both the side whereas iPhone 8 has Ion strengthened glass and oleophobic coating.

Samsung Galaxy S9 is given Exynos 9810 Octa-EMEA processor (octa-core) and iPhone 8 is given Apple's A11 Bionic chip (hexa-core). On comparing overall performance of both Samsung Galaxy S9 and iPhone 8, A11 Bionic chip won the battle in iPhone 8. iPhone 8 is faster than Samsung Galaxy S9. iPhone 8 has the only inbuilt memory of available option-64and256 GB Model whereas Samsung Galaxy S9  has a card slot to extend memory up to 400 GB. On Memory basis, iPhone 8 lags behind because of missing card slot but most of the users are satisfied with the iPhone 8 because they actually never needed more than Apple has given in iPhone 8. Again iPhone 8 is better than Samsung Galaxy S9 on comparing the processor. Memory had no role because both smartphones have enough space.

Samsung Galaxy S9  has Iris scanner fingerprint sensor on its back and other sensors like proximity, heart rate, SpO2, compass, barometer,  accelerometer, and gyro. Iris scanner is used to unlock the Samsung Galaxy S9 and the fingerprint is used for the same purpose but is placed on the backside below the camera. iPhone 8 has the only fingerprint sensor for unlocking the iPhone 8 and is more efficient in locking the iPhone faster than in Samsung Galaxy S9. iPhone has Fingerprint (front-mounted), accelerometer, compass, barometer, gyro, proximity sensor in it. Both smartphones Samsung Galaxy S9 and iPhone 8 have Fast battery charging and wireless charging support. Samsung Galaxy S9 uses Bixby and iPhone 8 uses Siri as voice assistant with natural language commands and dictation. 
 Both Smartphones are water and dust resistant. iPhone 8 is rated with IP67 and Samsung Galaxy S9 is rated IP68. Both Samsung Galaxy S9 and iPhone 8 are loaded with latest features but Apple's iOS works better than Android 8.0 in handling the hardware including the sensors. Concluding, iPhone 8 is still the first choice for those who have experienced both the platforms. iOS is also one of the reasons that iPhone 8 is better than Samsung Galaxy S9. Samsung Galaxy S9 vs iPhone 8: Camera

Both the smartphones, Samsung Galaxy S9 and iPhone 8, have a same 12MP camera but still different from each other in many ways. Apple keeps 12MP from iPhone 7 with optical stabilization sensor and  f/1.8 wide lens with sapphire glass to protect the camera from scratches and adds new image sensor Exmor RS for better image quality. Samsung Galaxy S9 has 12 MP camera with a variable aperture that is f/1.5 or f/2.4, allowing this allow a different amount of light entering the camera. There is optical stabilization and dual pixel phase detection autofocus.
Samsung Galaxy S9 is capable of recording 4K video recording and capture 9MP image whereas iPhone 8 can also record 4K video and can capture the 8MP image. Samsung Galaxy S9 can record 1080@240 fps, 720@960 fps (super slow motion) whereas iPhone 8 can record 1080@240 fps and 720@240 fps (slow motion). Both the smartphone have best video recording specification but during real-time recording on paper, the specification does not matter. iPhone 8' camera is very popular due to its image and video quality. It never lags and captures very clear images without blur. On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy S9 has great a camera but it cannot beat iPhone 8's camera.

Samsung Galaxy S9 and iPhone 8 are smartphones made by top smartphone manufactures. Both have almost same capabilities. Samsung Galaxy has larger screen and iris scanner. iPhone 8 has the A11 Bionic chip and best fingerprint sensor. Samsung Galaxy S9 has curved edges but are the reason that this Galaxy S9 is vulnerable to screen damage whereas iPhone 8 is still solid and is less vulnerable to screen damage.
